As someone who is single and in her 40's, I have experienced a lot of the frustrations of dating. I wanted a way to have my own, "Sex In The City" group of women to say that I am not alone with my frustrations. Recently, I had the opportunity to go on a leading, very popular, national talk show and confront a few of the men that I have labeled as "Blowfish". These are puffed up, arrogant, egotistical, condescending men who have no concern for the women they use for sex and are oblivious to the carnage they leave behind...

This led to the evolution that all men could be a type of fish and what type of fish are you looking for? Fishing and dating are very similiar. They both require patience, skill, the right bait and the perfect location. Internet dating is not the right location for me and I am sharing my experiences with internet dating, over one-hundred actual emails, dating stories which contain the good, the bad and the totally unexplained.

I put the men into fish categories such as; Blowfish, Eel, Wildmouth Blindcat, Clownfish, Sea Horse, Shark, Hornyhead Chub and the Marlin. What do fish have to do with men?  Blowfish is puffed up, egotistical and toxic; the Blindcat doesn't have a clue and is oblivious to his small package; a Clownfish will leave your sides aching with laughter; the Sea Horse is a true metrosexual like Ryan Secrest; the Shark, a dangerous and sexy bad boy, is guaranteed to give you an exciting sense of living on the edge; the sweet Hornyhead Chub is waiting to tangle with your inner cougar; the Eel will visit your "cave" a few times but then is gone without explanation. Some consider an Eel the, "He's Not Into You" type of man.  The prized fish is, of course, the Marlin.  The mature Marlin is rarely spotted and requires a lot of skill to reel in put once you catch a Marlin you never want to let him go!

This is not a man bashing book! I love men! It is a tongue-in-cheek look at dating. It is for women. It is a fact based with sometimes just a little fiction thrown in story. It is about coping with the ever changing dating life. I told the host of the talk show that I was so frustrated with men that my idea of a perfect date is now soft music, a nice candle and plenty of batteries! Of course, after the interview he invited men to contact his show to date me! UGH!

Any woman who has ever had frustrations searching for their Mr. Right will appreciate this book! On a very serious note, the book is about women learing to love and respect themselves. Sex is not always love.  Women need to learn that they have the power to throw back the unwanted fish and hold out for the Marlin!
