Author Ola Taiwo was born to
a young family in London in 1964. She was the first child of a
young married Nigerian couple who placed her in foster care in
order to focus on their jobs and studies. Her earliest childhood
memories were pleasant recollections of life with her foster
care family. When Ola became five years old, her parents took
her out of foster care to live with them.
Her memories of her
biological mother were of a cruel and wicked woman. She faced a
horrific life with her parents from the time she was five years
old until she was twelve—her parents successfully concealed her
traumatic abuse from Social Services. For Ola, this was seven
years of torture, but a decision to forgive her mother after
twenty-six years finally released her from the hurt and pain of
her tormented past, and put her on a path of healing. A truly
captivating story of forgiveness.
