The poems
expressed in
Thoughts
of a Raging Lunatic
reveal a woman locked in uncertainty. With raw emotions exposed,
the poetry takes on a life of its own.
Duality
Standing
outside my body looking in
I wonder who I am and where I've been
Am I half alive or just half dead
A veil of shame and feel of dread
This person in front of me, personality split in two
Can they live together? it seems impossible to do
There is no peaceful harmony, just the fear that one must die
Caught in uncertain destiny, for both to live, one must always
lie
My minds eye like a mirror, both souls reflecting back at me
The inevitability that one soul must die, to avoid tortured
insanity
In the
emotional poem Duality,
G.F. Emerson expresses the fears she had of her own dual
personality that was created as a safety mechanism. But her dual
self was tearing her apart.
Visceral
emotions, paranoia, fear and self-betrayal paint a portrait of a
threatened and overwhelmed individual. As the poetry flows
across the page, an emotional torrent is released that is at
times both touching and frightening. The book is a consolidation
of feelings of lost love, pain over a broken heart, and a
feeling that there is a demon living within that may be
uncontrollable if released.
