Sophia’s Version
grips your heart as it unlocks the hidden truths buried in the
memories of five siblings when they attend the funeral of their
mother. Mystery and speculation brought on by their mother’s
cremation, burial location and peculiar lifestyle perplexes the
siblings who grew up in a dysfunctional home. Sophia, the eldest
of the siblings feels detached at her mother’s funeral and
recollects her family history, their evacuation during World War
Two, her father’s attempts to earn a living as an actor and the
trauma of her mother leaving home. All of it triggers
deep-rooted guilt about her feelings towards her mother. After
the siblings were shown a bizarre video tape following the
funeral, they gather together to discuss the day’s events and
their own memories of the family. Sean, the only brother
suggests that he may be the only one who is able to arrive at
another version of the truth, and also reveals devastating news…
“This
is an enjoyable family saga novel. This family isn’t only
interesting, they’re fascinating, human and funny”
