Meet the Author



In addition to writing, Cora Kerr is a volunteer teacher of English as a second language. Her next novel explores another chapter in the lives of Beth and Franny. She lives in California and in Baja California, Mexico.

 

 

 

On the Wings of Discovery

This beautiful coming-of-age story about two young girls on the brink of maturity is handled gracefully with humor and compassion.

Spending the summer at a Mexican beach resort becomes a life-changing experience for two 15-year-old best friends. Beth’s biggest interests are learning Spanish and boys! Franny is a tomboy looking for fun and adventure.

The two girls begin their vacation enjoying the beach, but as the summer progresses, they end up rescuing a paralyzed seagull, a starving pelican, a bird with a broken wing, and other seabirds in trouble. As the girls reach out to the creatures, they begin to understand the beauty and frailty of life, and in the process, they gain an understanding of who they truly are.

Beth and Frannie begin to see the world through the eyes of another culture and learn to appreciate that the essence of humanity is the same in all peoples.

Love Lessons on Bird Beach will be a life lesson for everyone it touches.
