This love narrative spans over 70 years, beginning with her mother’s childhood in Chattaroy, West Virginia during the 1930s and stretching to when her mom is in her 40s.  It is during this time that she meets a young man barely out of high school with whom she has a baby out of wedlock while still married to her first husband.  She soon divorces her first husband and marries the author’s father.  That union takes the family and the readers across the country from Cincinnati to Denver and Fort Wayne, Indiana to Gastonia, North Carolina then back to Cincinnati as a story of love unfolds; but the family meets a major crisis in 2005 as the author’s mother dies of pancreatic cancer.
