Don’t Take My Sunrise
By Leah Hutchinson

As a young woman, Ling is naïve to the true conditions of her life. Her family lives in a remote village where the entire population works on a tea farm as slaves. To Ling however, she lives a wonderfully simple existence.

Her life takes a turn for the worse when her father sells her into an arranged marriage. Her new husband, David, rips her from her family and all that she loves, taking her to England. Ling quickly discovers that David is a cruel and ruthless man, but she finds hope in knowing that he can not take away the one thing that gives her strength and keeps her sane, her memories.

The time spent with David nevertheless cures Ling of her youthful inexperience as she struggles to survive. For the first time, Ling has to rely on herself. All she wants is to return to her family and the way things were before. To do this, she must look within herself, find allies and, hopefully, a way to escape. Will she ever see the family she loves so much again?
