S. G. Kiner’s
Death Spiral
brings back the gorgeous, street-smart, securities attorney
Susanna Sloane.
Kiner’s second in the Susanna
Sloane series is bigger and better than ever with sexy lawyer
Susanna once again taking on corporate giants and getting in bed
with some powerful men—literally and figuratively!
Susanna’s firm represents a
client whose company is the victim of a stock manipulation
scheme called “death spiral financing”—the practice whereby a
lender can seize control of a company. For help in taking on
the corporate financial giant, Susanna enlists a former lover,
Roger Howell. Meanwhile, she discovers that her current lover
owns the very corporation she’s fighting!
Roger, the Secretary of the
Treasury, uses his influence to have Susanna appointed to head a
task force evaluating the practice of death spiral financing.
But she gets far more than she bargains for as she finds herself
rubbing elbows with the powers that be in D.C. She is asked to
fill a vacancy on the Securities and Exchange Commission, and
then represents the Chinese government in high-powered
negotiations for Venezuelan oil rights. That’s when, just to
heat things up and keep life interesting, Susanna resumes her
affair with Howell.
Susanna finds herself the
common denominator in a murder mystery, as one by one her
ex-lovers are being killed and sexually mutilated. Her
ex-husband becomes a victim, but survives. Then Howell is
attacked. Who is the serial killer that is purposefully
targeting the men in her life? And why?
Shady political coups, mayhem
and murder—it’s all in a day’s work for this irrepressible
woman. Will she survive it all to marry the man she loves? Who
might that man turn out to be?
Kiner’s
second Sloane novel delivers with a punch—exhilarating action
spanning three continents, a plotline that keeps the reader
guessing and the spunky, sexy, cougaresque lady that fans just
can’t get enough of.
Kiner's
first novel,
The Hong Kong Connection is also available for purchase.
