From conception to death, human beings encounter challenges.  It is how we deal with these challenges that distinguishes our identities. 

The problems that some people face leave them with heavy burdens.  While others may feel they have dealt with similar challenges, each individual’s experience is unique.  As it is said, the one who feels it knows it.

Overcoming challenges is aided by a relationship with God.  These situations are opportunities to apply God’s tested principles, rather than experimenting with finding solutions.

Author Howard J. Bastian uses the story of Joseph from the book of Genesis to explore how one individual maintained his godly principles in spite of the challenges he had to endure.  Joseph embraced his situations and made the best out of them.   He recognized the workings of God and, at the end freely forgave the brothers who committed a terrible crime against him.
